About the Role
Aircraft Maintenance Instructor - C-27J Spartan, based at RAAF Base Amberley, QLD. Sigma Aerospace is seeking an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, Avionics Technician or Aviation Tradesperson to transition their technical expertise into a rewarding training and mentoring role supporting the RAAF C-27J Spartan fleet. This is an opportunity to pass on knowledge and experience to the next generation of Defence aviation maintainers while remaining closely connected to an operational aviation environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver technical aircraft maintenance training in classroom and practical environments
- Assess student competency and provide coaching and mentoring
- Prepare and deliver training and assessments in accordance with approved programs
- Maintain and continuously improve courseware, learning materials and training resources
- Support students throughout their learning journey and ensure training outcomes are achieved
- Maintain accurate training records and documentation
- Work closely with Defence personnel and industry stakeholders
- Contribute to continuous improvement across the training environment
Essential Requirements
- Certificate IV in Aeroskills - Mechanical or Avionics
- Strong technical knowledge of aircraft maintenance practices and systems
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain an AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance
- Australian Citizenship required
Desirable
- Defence aviation experience
- Experience working with the C-27J Spartan or similar Defence aircraft
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE) or equivalent
- Previous experience delivering technical training or mentoring apprentices/engineers
