About the Role
As our Aircraft Life Support Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our crews and patients are protected every time we take to the skies. Based at our Archerfield facility, you’ll be responsible for maintaining, repairing and certifying essential aviation safety equipment used across our fleet from helmets and harnesses to life preservers and survival gear.
Your work will directly support safe aeromedical operations across Queensland and interstate, helping our crews respond when communities need us most.
Day-to-day, you’ll:
Carry out inspections, scheduled maintenance and repairs to ensure all equipment is compliant, functioning and fit for operational use.
Provide technical advice and support to flight crews, engineers and operational teams.
Assist with training on correct use and care of safety equipment to reduce preventable damage and enhance operational readiness
Travel to LifeFlight bases as required to conduct inspections and equipment certification.
Maintain accurate documentation, certification records and system updates in line with CASA and Part 145 compliance requirements.
About You
You’re an experienced aviation safety equipment technician who understands the importance of precision, care and compliance. You enjoy hands-on work and take pride in ensuring equipment performs exactly as it should when it matters most.
You’ll also bring:
Certificate III in Aircraft Life Support Equipment and Furnishing (essential)
5+ years practical experience maintaining and inspecting aviation safety equipment to OEM and regulatory standards
A working knowledge of CASR Part 145 and aviation compliance requirements
Excellent documentation and record-keeping discipline
Confidence providing technical advice and guidance to others
A proactive mindset with a strong commitment to continuous improvement and safe work practices
You’re someone who works well independently, communicates effectively and knows that the quality of your work underpins the safety of others.
