On behalf of our client, Altara invites Expressions of Interest from experienced and motivated pilots to join our Bombardier Challenger 605 fleet, supporting Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) operations. These are demanding, dynamic, and purpose-driven roles, operating in the nation’s interests with one of Australia’s most distinctive and specialised aviation organisations.

The Role
Flying on our client’s ISR fleet, you will conduct a variety of mission profiles requiring discipline, adaptability, and discretion.
These roles demand strong situational awareness, technical excellence, and the ability to perform in high-tempo environments supporting Commonwealth taskings.
This is a commuting position offering generous time off. When on rotation, pilots will operate across day, night, weekend, and public holiday duties in support of mission requirements.
Minimum Requirements
Captains:
Australian ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot Licence)
Minimum 3,000 hours total time, including 1,000 hours PIC (swept-wing jet command experience desirable)
A minimum of 2,000 hours total flight time in command or ICUS; applicants with lesser total time may be considered where they possess substantial experience on equivalent aircraft types
CL604/605/650 experience highly regarded
First Officers:
Australian CPL (Commercial Pilot Licence) with Instrument Rating
All ATPL theory subjects completed and MCC course (or equivalent multi-crew experience)
Minimum 1,500 hours total time
At least 500 hours total command/ICUS time
500 hours multi-engine experience, although a lower total may be considered where the applicant has substantial jet and/or turbo-prop experience
CL604/605/650 experience advantageous
All applicants must also:
Hold a current CASA Class 1 Aviation Medical
Hold or be eligible for an Aviation Security Identity Card (ASIC)
Be able to obtain and maintain various Australian Government clearances including (but not only) a Baseline Security Clearance issued by the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA).
Undergo background, police, and DAMP (Drug and Alcohol Management Program) compliance checks
Military or government ISR experience will be highly regarded, and relevant operational experience will be assessed on merit
