About the role
Koolardie Aviation Pty Ltd trading as National Aviation Academy and ZephAir Australia is seeking an experienced Base Manager to join our team in Cairns, Queensland. As the Base Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our aviation facility, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our business. This full-time role is essential for supporting our company's strategic objectives and growth in airwork, charter, and training.
What you'll be doing
Manage and coordinate all activities at the Cairns base, including personnel, aircraft, equipment, and resources
Oversee operational aviation activities at a satellite base, ensuring compliance with Koolardie Aviation procedures
Ensure Koolardie Aviation's policies, culture and values are upheld
Liaise with various stakeholders, including student pilots, industry partners, customers, and regulatory authorities
Manage and support a team of aviation professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance management
Ensure compliance with all relevant industry, health, safety, and environmental regulations
Contribute to the overall strategic direction and growth of the company
What we're looking for
Significant experience in a management or supervisory role within the aviation industry
Strong operational and logistics management skills, with a proven track record of driving efficiency and productivity
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders
Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team
Thorough understanding of relevant industry, health, safety, and environmental regulations
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
CPL (A)
Class 1 Medical
Current ASIC
Current Dangerous Goods
Flight Instructor Rating with a Grade 1, 2 or 3 Training Endorsement - or ability to obtain
Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) - or ability to obtain
Highly Desirable
Multi Engine Instrument Rating with IFR experience
Flight Examiner Rating
