The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) have exciting opportunities available for a Ground Support Officer. They will assist the aviation cohort in operational duties associated with the preparation for and the conduct of a flight, including cleaning aircraft, refuelling, and replenishing supplies.
This role also assists with other tasks as required, to support the RFDS in providing the finest care to the furthest corner!
About the Role:
Rockhampton Airport based
Permanent, Part time role
5 days a week, Monday to Friday
4-hour shifts, morning or evening
Key responsibilities
Your key responsibilities in this role will include:
Perform operational duties to Support and facilitates ground support services
Towing of aircraft into and out of the hangar using a tow motor and ensuring that the aircraft is towed and repositioned when directed, with aeromedical bays available
Support and assists health professionals with patient transport and care including loading and unloading of stretcher patients and medical equipment
Cleaning interior and exterior of Aircraft, restocking items when required
Assisting medical team with aircraft decontamination
Inspect hanger equipment, and clean when required
Other tasks as requested by the Senior Base Pilot or Ground Support Lead
Who we are looking for?
To be successful in this role you will possess the following:
Experience in operating around aircraft and an understanding of the safety requirements to carry out tasks in such an environment
Pilot / Aviation experience (desirable)
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders
Proven ability to work autonomously and within a team
Proven attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
Ability to obtain and hold a Blue Card
Hold an Australian Drivers Licence
Australian Security Identification Care (ASIC) or ability to obtain
