About the role
JNP Aviation Training (JNPAT) is looking for an experienced aeronautical engineer to develop course content for the New Zealand Certificate in Aeronautical Engineering (Pre-Employment Skills) Level 3. The materials you write will give school leavers and career changers a real head start into the industry.
Key responsibilities
- Write and structure course content for the Level 3 programme, in line with the approved programme outline
- Design hands-on learning materials, activities and assessment resources for a practical, skills-based programme
- Sequence the learning so it moves learners step by step from the classroom to industry-ready skills
- Use JNPAT's software tools to build engaging, high-quality resources
- Work alongside trainers, moderators and Quality Advisor so content meets NZQA and JNPAT quality requirements and takes account of CAA requirements
- Fold in feedback from moderation and review
- Report progress to the General Manager against agreed milestones
About you
- A relevant aeronautical or aircraft engineering qualification (e.g. NZ Diploma or Certificate in Aeronautical Engineering, a CAA licence, or an equivalent trade or engineering qualification), and/or significant aviation engineering industry experience
- A solid understanding of the skills and attitudes employers look for in a new entrant to the hangar
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a real eye for detail
- Good organisation, and the ability to manage deadlines
- A collaborative approach and ability to work closely with the team
- Ability to travel to the Tauranga site from time to time
- Experience developing training or course content, especially for vocational or pre-employment programmes (desirable)
- Training or assessing experience (desirable)
- An Adult and Tertiary Education qualification at Level 5 or above (desirable)
- Familiarity with the NZQA Quality Framework (desirable)
