A Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) is responsible for performing a broad range of aircraft maintenance and certifying within their licensing. LAMEs are required to ensure maintenance performed on assigned aircraft is carried out in compliance with company policies, procedures and Civil Aviation Regulations. A LAME is able to certify work undertaken by allocated individuals and may also take on the role of coordinating projects, guiding teams to successful operational outcomes.
Annual Salary: AUD $115,000–$140,000 plus Super plus OT.
Your Responsibilities
Compliance & Regulatory
- Promote and drive Jet Aviation values and compliance policies to support desired company culture
- Accountable for ensuring work completed requiring sign-off is done in accordance with CASA regulations
- Accountable for creation and updating of work orders, write-up and sign-off of work completed each day
- Contribute to hangar housekeeping, tooling management and WHS reporting through JetSafe
- Ensure all paperwork is completed and issue Return to Service (RTS)
Maintenance
- Supervise maintenance carried out by other individuals and certify for completion
- Monitor, mentor and develop maintenance employee technical capabilities and regulatory compliance
- Monitor allocation of manpower to tasks and employee time registration within coordinated projects
- Maintain thorough, professional and timely communication with Maintenance Supervisor for customer progress updates
Aircraft Coordination Support
- Hands-on administrative role covering production planning and document control
- Communicate daily with technical records to review the master checklist
- Deliver daily toolbox meetings and track critical project milestones
- Support, mentor and coordinate zonal coordinators, including approval of defects
- Provide support for complex parts interpretation
- Work with HOC to ensure appropriate manpower allocation and efficiency of work
- Supervision, mentoring and coaching of staff supporting projects/aircraft
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum Diploma in Aeroskills, accompanied by a CASA Licence on particular aircraft within a particular stream
- Experience in maintenance, systems and modifications within an aircraft facility — ATR, DASH 8 and Fokker preferred, with lower group experience in a Commercial Hangar Environment
- Demonstrated understanding of aviation regulatory and safety requirements
- Computer literate in ERP and maintenance systems, Microsoft Outlook and Excel
- Proven ability to work in a team environment and with limited supervision
- Effective time management and flexibility in a rapidly changing environment
- Current legal right to work in Australia
