Jandakot Airport Holdings is seeking a friendly, reliable, and passionate Safety Officer with strong interpersonal and communication skills to join our small team in a supportive role.
Reporting to and assisting the Safety Manager, this position offers full time with the potential for a part time working arrangement with flexible hours for the right candidate.
Assisting in the day-to-day administration of safety-related activities at Jandakot Airport, including documentation, recordkeeping, coordination of audits/investigations, training administration, and general safety management activities.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the administration and upkeep of the Safety Management System (SMS) documentation and records, including safety promotion, risk management and safety assurance.
Conduct internal & external audits and reviews.
Prepare meeting agendas and take minutes for relevant safety meetings.
Support the Safety Manager with training coordination activities, including communicating training requirements and assisting with logistical arrangements.
Coordinate pre-employment and employee medical assessments, including bookings, documentation collation, and record management.
Promote a positive safety culture and support emergency preparedness.
Ensure compliance with CASA, WHS WA, and other relevant regulations.
About You
Aviation qualification and/or experience in the aviation industry.
Awareness of aviation safety management systems.
Demonstrated administrative capability supporting safety/compliance functions (high attention to detail).
Awareness of risk management principles.
Strong written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with a culturally diverse workforce.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
C Class driver’s licence.
Have, or be able to complete, Provide First Aid.
Pass pre-employment Drug & Alcohol Screening in accordance with Part 99 of the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations.
Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally with all levels of management.
Desirable:
Qualification in WHS (or willing to obtain).
Auditing qualification and/or experience supporting audit coordination and evidence collation (or willing to obtain).
Lead Auditor qualification (or willing to obtain).
Certificate IV Training and Assessment (or willing to obtain).
