Job Impact

We are seeking professional and detail-oriented Cargo Screeners to join our team. Working within a fast-paced aviation and logistics environment, you will play a critical role in maintaining the security and integrity of the supply chain by screening cargo and identifying potential threats before entry into secure areas.

About the Role

As a Cargo Screener, you will be responsible for conducting both electronic and physical screening of cargo in accordance with regulatory requirements and Certis operating procedures. Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will support the safe and secure movement of freight while ensuring compliance with aviation and transport security regulations.

Roster: 7 days per month + 2 days travel. Pay Rate: Security Award Level 2. Benefits include paid flights, accommodation, vehicle, meals and frequent flyer points, plus Aviation Cargo Screening Certification Training provided.

Training & Accreditation

Successful applicants will complete a paid training pathway funded by Certis, including a 24-hour online Cargo Screening course, 40 hours of supervised On-the-Job Training (OJT), and a 4-hour accreditation assessment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating X-ray screening and other approved detection equipment.
• Monitoring and interpreting X-ray images to identify potential threats or prohibited items.
• Conducting physical inspections and searches of cargo when required.
• Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory requirements.
• Maintaining accurate records, logs and screening documentation.
• Reporting and escalating security or safety incidents in accordance with procedures.
• Controlling access to security-sensitive and restricted areas.
• Participating in shift briefings and operational handovers.

About You

• Current WA Security Licence.
• Strong attention to detail and observational capabilities.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
• Ability to follow procedures and compliance requirements rigorously.
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and perform manual inspections.
• Flexibility to work a variety of casual shifts.
• Experience within aviation, transport, freight or logistics environments will be highly regarded.
