About the Role

Reporting to the Key Account Manager (KAM), the Training Centre Manager (TCM) proactively leads and manages the service delivery for their assigned platform(s) — the KC-30A tanker/transport aircraft — to meet the customer's changing needs, leading the Integrated Platform Team (IPT) and working with the project execution team for integration and transition of acquisition and discrete projects. The role requires working 4/5 days a week at RAAF Base Amberley.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as customer liaison, including onsite attendance at meetings and acting as the first point of contact for the customer's Logistics Authority.
  • Lead an Integrated Platform Team incorporating projects, maintenance, training, engineering and functional support staff, and act as the first point of escalation for issues within the team, including on-site risk management.
  • Collaborate and communicate with internal stakeholders within a matrixed organisation to ensure compliant delivery of contract outcomes and contractual deliverables, including customer reporting and communications, device up-time and training delivery, and escalation of risk and WHS matters.
  • Work closely with the KAM for the development and maintenance of the "source of truth" Annual Work Plan, delivery of recurring services and projects against this plan, and communication and reporting of performance.

Essential Requirements

  • Strong experience with front-line or operational leadership.
  • Defence experience (preferably aviation).
  • Bachelor of Engineering or Electronic/Avionic Trades qualification.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance (NV1); must be an Australian Citizen.

Desirable

  • Experience in continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with Systems Engineering and/or technology projects.
  • Project Management Qualification (e.g. Prince2/PMP/AIPM).
  • Management of project financials and cost control metrics like EAC, ETC, EVM.
