The Opportunity

Boeing Defence Australia's Sustainment Operations Business is looking for an experienced Disposals and Quarantine Manager to join the Air Combat Electronic Attack (ACEA) Sustainment Program Logistics Team. The Logistics team provides sustainment services to the Royal Australian Air Force's F/A-18F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler fleet. This position will support the Super Hornet and Growler fleet by managing the disposal of assigned items and overseeing quarantine management for items identified as defective, deficient, or damaged throughout their lifecycle. This role is based at RAAF Base Amberley.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the disposal of assigned items in line with relevant policies and procedures
  • Assess surplus items to ensure they can be removed from inventory without affecting operational capability
  • Prepare and maintain required documentation to support disposal decisions and approvals
  • Recommend appropriate disposal methods in accordance with applicable guidelines and delegate requirements
  • Ensure disposal activities comply with Commonwealth requirements, audit expectations, and organisational interests
  • Manage items found to be Defective, Deficient or Damaged during any point of their lifecycle (quarantine management)
  • Liaise with logistics, engineering, supply chain teams, and customer stakeholders, providing status updates, system health indicator reports, and prompt notification of risks and issues

Experience/Qualifications

  • Defence inventory system and policy knowledge, skills and experience (e.g. MILIS, SAP S/4HANA, ESCM, DEFLOGMAN)
  • Ability to work successfully unsupervised and in a team environment
  • High level communication and negotiation skills to facilitate interaction between customer support teams and key internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders and engagement with all levels of management
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements
