The Opportunity
Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) provides for the Australian Defence Force (ADF) Joint Helicopter School through the Helicopter Aircrew Training System (HATS) Program, based at HMAS Albatross. The Program is seeking applications for the role of Program Integration Manager (PIM) / Deputy Program Manager (DPM). As a key member of the HATS leadership team, this role is integral to the successful program management of services delivered to the customer.
This role is based onsite at HMAS Albatross, Nowra, NSW with hybrid working arrangements.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of assigned program or project activities to achieve agreed Defence capability, schedule, cost, and performance outcomes
- Support financial control activities including budget monitoring, forecasting, cost tracking, and reporting
- Manage integrated project planning across internal teams, subcontractors, and customer stakeholders
- Support the Program Manager in delivering governance, reporting, and performance management across the program
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Defence customers and key internal stakeholders
- Oversee the identification, escalation, and resolution of project issues, risks, and dependencies
- Lead delivery of Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) including planning, execution, monitoring, control, and reporting
- Manage and maintain change control, baseline integrity, and configuration management processes
- Develop, maintain, and monitor task prioritisation and workflow systems
- Track and report project performance metrics against milestones, commitments, and program objectives
- Coordinate timely preparation and distribution of technical, operational, and business reporting
- Provide effective interface with internal support functions including HR, Quality, EHS, Finance, Contracts, Security, Facilities, Trade Controls, Data Management, and Training
- Contribute to workforce planning, resource coordination, and team capability development as required
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years' relevant experience in project management, engineering, or an aircraft technical environment
- Extensive project management experience with demonstrated success delivering programs in technical, aviation, or Defence environments
- Strong leadership with the ability to coordinate, prioritise, and deliver complex program requirements in a dynamic environment
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with strong negotiation and stakeholder engagement capability
- Understanding of airworthiness standards and the ADF's Defence Aviation Safety regulations
- Proven ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
- Self-starter with strong initiative, sound judgement, and well-developed problem-solving skills
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Project Management, Engineering, or a related discipline (highly desirable)
- Australian Citizen with ability to hold or obtain a Baseline Defence security clearance
