About the Role
We have exciting opportunities for Avionics Technical Instructors to join our Aircraft Sustainment & Training team based at Wagga Wagga, NSW. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality aviation training, supporting student development and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. We’re seeking qualified Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (Avionics) with strong Defence Aviation Safety Regulations experience to join the Aviation Technical Training project delivering training to the Australian Defence Force.
Core Duties
- Undertake facilitation and delivery of technical training in both Initial Employment Training and Post Initial Employment Training
- Supervise Australian Defence Force personnel within a Simulated Working Environment
- Provide specialisation skills and advice to support aviation technical training
- Develop and maintain relationships with the customer, government and industry partners
- Design and develop training solutions and documentation that meet stakeholder requirements
- Maintain accurate electronic and hard-copy records of training documentation
- Guide and mentor Defence trainees and students in best practice within the aviation environment
Essential Skills
- Demonstrated industry experience as a qualified Avionics Maintenance Engineer (AME) with significant Aviation Safety Regulations experience
- A Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics), higher qualification, or a current EASA/CASA Licence highly regarded
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or technical training instructor experience highly regarded (candidates without this must be willing to undertake training to obtain it)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) regulations
