About the Role
Reporting to the Accountable Manager, the Continuing Airworthiness Manager (CAM) is responsible for ensuring the airworthiness of all Part 135 aircraft managed under Aviair's CAMO. This role leads the development, oversight, and continuous improvement of Aviair's continuing airworthiness policies, maintenance programs, and regulatory approvals, and also provides oversight for aircraft managed under CAR1998, including Part 133 rotary operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the introduction of new and existing aircraft types into service, including approval of airworthiness documentation and CASA certificate variations
- Develop and maintain Aviair's continuing airworthiness management policies, including approval and amendment of Aircraft Maintenance Programs
- Analyse the effectiveness of maintenance programs in accordance with CASR Part 42.160
- Manage the relationship with the Part 145 maintenance contractor and establish maintenance contracts
- Oversee CASA approval of the Aviair Technical Log (Part 42.220) and ensure accurate technical and usage records
- Oversee modifications, repairs, and Airworthiness Directive compliance programs
- Manage line and base maintenance
- Maintain the validity of Airworthiness Reviews for all aircraft
- Report maintenance-related occurrences to CASA and manufacturers
- Manage the Aircraft Reliability Program, including reporting and corrective actions
- Control and amend relevant sections of the Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition
- Lead, mentor, and develop CAMO team members, building capability and succession pathways
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to maintain a safe and compliant fleet
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a continuing airworthiness management role
- Comprehensive knowledge of CAMO exposition requirements and CASA, EASA, and FAA legislation
- AME Licence (held or previously held) and meets Part 42 MOS requirements for a Continuing Airworthiness Manager
- Strong understanding of operations manual and flight operations legislation
- Technical knowledge of aircraft types managed by the CAMO
- Experience developing maintenance programs and managing reliability programs
- Experience conducting airworthiness reviews and introducing aircraft into service
- High proficiency in CMMS and MS Office
- Ability to obtain and hold ASIC
- Flexibility to work across time zones and travel as required
