The Position
Avalon Airport is seeking an experienced and motivated Leading Hand Electrician to join its Facilities Maintenance team. Reporting to the Facilities Operations Supervisor, this hands-on leadership role coordinates daily electrical maintenance and project activities across the airport, leading a small team of electricians and apprentices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily activities of electricians, apprentices and contractors
- Perform routine, preventative and reactive maintenance on airport electrical infrastructure
- Diagnose and rectify complex electrical faults
- Maintain lighting, power distribution systems, switchboards, motors, pumps and control equipment
- Conduct and oversee testing and tagging activities
- Coordinate contractors to ensure safe and compliant work practices
Essential Requirements
- Current A Grade Electrical Licence and Certificate III in Electrotechnology or equivalent
- Current driver's licence; ability to obtain an ASIC
- Extensive electrical maintenance and installation experience in commercial or industrial environments
- Supervisory/leading hand experience of at least 4 workers for a minimum of 5 years
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills; ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
