The Role

As the KC-30A Training Systems Manager (TSM), you will be responsible for:

  • The management of contracted training services associated with the KC-30A Multi-Role Tanker Transport aircraft, including; Pilot, Air Refuelling Operator, Maintenance, Crew Attendant and Loading training, and KC-30A Simulator and Training devices. This includes contract deliverable reviews, issue management, reporting and liaison with stakeholders including 33 Squadron, 86 Wing, Air Mobility Group, Heavy Air Lift Systems Program Office, Air Lift Systems Program Office  and other industry partners;

  • Contract governance assurance over the training components of the Through Life Support (TLS) contract Statement of Work (SOW) and the Aersopace Simulator Integrated Support and Training (ASIST) KC-30A contract schedules, this includes coordination between the ASIST contractor, the TLS contractor and 33 Squadron to maintain an agreed training schedule and training device maintenance schedule.

  • Manage contracts in order to support seamless delivery of training services. Coordinate stakeholder  engagement in support of annual simulator re-accreditation activities, training evaluations and reviews of amended training specifications/syllabi and material.

About our Team

The Heavy Airlift Systems Program Office (HALSPO) acquires and sustains Heavy Air Lift and Air Base Operations capabilities in support of the Defence mission. The KC-30A Logistics Management Units key function is to lead an integrated team to acquire and sustain the KC-30A capability on behalf of Defence. This includes the management of the TLS Contract with Northrop Grumman Australia (NGA), the Simulator sustainment and training contract with CAE, and other supplementary KC-30A contracts. The LMU is comprised of an integrated team of civilian APS and uniformed military members across the domains of Engineering and Technical Support, Training Support, Supply Support, Finance, Contract Management & Governance and Reporting.

The TSM position has a single subordinate position (Training Integration Lead) filled by a RAAF FSGT Avionics Technician. The Training Integration Lead supports the TSM in the conduct of training governance assurance activities, with a particular focus on integration and alignment of platform, training device and training activities to assure successful Air Force training outcomes. The Training Integration Lead also provides technical SME support to the TSM position in areas including Simulator engineering change management, accreditation and platform integration.
