Position Description:
To support our expanding presence in Brisbane, the Operations Manager - Northern at AVCRO will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with regulatory, company, quality and safety standards for Queensland and New South Wales. Reporting alongside the Operations Manager - Southern to the Responsible Manager – Line/Base (RM-L/B), the successful candidate will actively contribute to day-to-day Engineering Operations matters, taking a hands-on approach to facilitate effective and efficient workflow. Being responsible for quality outcomes, engineering turn-times, rostering etc.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the RM-L/B to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies.
Implement and maintain systems to monitor and enhance aviation quality and safety standards.
Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance.
Provide hands-on support to staff in matters related to quality and safety.
Oversee the Certifiers and support the business through workflow management.
Participate in the development and delivery of quality and safety training programs.
Be involved with the investigation of safety incidents, help support to identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
Facilitate communication between different departments to promote a culture of safety and quality.
Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure continuous improvement.
Monitor and manage the Roster, working with Production Planners for manpower allocation.
Additional hours may be required, paid at time and a half to meet the needs of the Company
Experience/Qualifications:
Aviation Management/Leadership experience
LAME desirable, but not essential
Experience working with an aircraft/airline business setting
2+ years’ recent experience in the airline or third-party MRO setting
Comprehensive understanding of CASR Part 42, Part 66 & Part 145
Awareness and understanding of the Civil Aviation Act
