Our group facilitates approximately 50% of all Australian trade through Marine Pilotage, Marine Logistics and Aviation Marine Pilot Transfer Services.
About the Role
The Auriga Pilots (Reef) division provides essential logistics and maritime supply chain services to numerous remote communities across Far North Queensland, including Cairns, Thursday Island, Yorke Island and Weipa.
We are seeking an experienced Launch Master to join our North Queensland team based in Amrun. If you are an experienced Launch Master looking for a change and improved work-life balance, this is the role for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete operational responsibility for the vessel and the crew, ensuring the vessel is operated within all legislative requirements (national and local body authorities)
- Ensure all practicable steps are taken to maintain the safety of all staff, crew and vessel
- Provide effective leadership to the team and ensure compliance with all Maritime Rule requirements with a strong focus on safety
- Primarily operating out of Amrun, but may be required to fill in across other locations in FNQ
About You
Applicants must be Australian residents with valid working rights and hold the following AMSA qualifications/endorsements:
- Valid AMSA Certificate of Medical Fitness
- Master <24 (Master 5) qualification (required)
- Marine Engine Driver II (MED 2) (required)
- Elements of Shipboard Safety knowledge
- Senior First Aid (highly regarded)
- Radio training (highly regarded)
- Agree to a company medical
- Adhere to the zero alcohol/drug policy and all other company policies
