The Opportunity
Flight Test Engineering Lead owning the planning, execution and reporting of flight test campaigns for autonomous aerial vehicles, from developmental testing through operational evaluation with military customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a small team of flight test engineers
- Own the flight test campaign schedule from planning through post-test reporting
- Serve as primary interface with customer test authorities during joint test events
- Make risk-informed test readiness and go/no-go decisions
- Author flight test plans, test cards and data reduction plans
- Execute flight tests as test conductor or vehicle operator
- Perform flight test data reduction, analysis and reporting
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical or electrical engineering
- 7+ years' experience in flight test engineering or systems integration
- Demonstrated experience planning and executing flight test campaigns
- Working knowledge of flight dynamics, aerodynamics or control theory
- Ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 Security Clearance
Desirable
- UAS flight test experience, including autonomous vehicles
- Familiarity with DT&E/OT&E frameworks; SFTE/SETP membership
