About the Role
The Operations Controller plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity and performance of the Alliance Airlines network. You will coordinate aircraft and crew resources, manage the network schedule and work closely with key operational teams to ensure safety, compliance and client requirements are met. This is a fast-paced role where you will lead complex operational recovery strategies, balancing available resources, recovery costs and the impacts of disruption. The role operates on a 24/7 shift roster.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately maintain the airline's Charter and RPT schedule within the Operations Control System
- Maintain Flight Crew and Cabin Crew rosters after publication
- Monitor and optimise the airline schedule to minimise disruption and maximise On Time Performance (OTP)
- Manage the Metron Harmony Slot Control program, coordinating with Airservices Australia and airlines
- Solve complex operational problems with internal and external stakeholders, including Engineering, Airports, Flight Operations, Commercial and Air Services
- Coordinate ad-hoc charter and client requests within the operational window
- Manage communication where there are delayed, disrupted, and cancelled services
- Coordinate Flight Planning with Qantas Flight Planning
- Monitor and assess weather conditions across the network to proactively manage disruption
- VHF/HF communications with operating crew
Essential Requirements
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess complex situations under pressure
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Flexibility and a willingness to work a 24/7 shift roster
- Understanding/experience of Airport Operations / constraints
- Understanding/experience in Crew Resource Management, Rostering and relevant legislation and industrial agreements
- Experience working in a high-pressured, time critical environment
- Knowledge of Fatigue Risk Management within Aircrew
Desirable
Relevant exposure/experience within an Operations Control Centre environment; degree level education in Aviation Management or related discipline; previous frontline operations exposure in an Aviation or logistics setting.
