About the Role

Alice Springs Airport is seeking an experienced Airport Compliance Coordinator to support the safe, secure and compliant operation of the airport. Reporting to the Head of Airports Regional and leading a small team, you will be responsible for coordinating compliance across airside operations, aviation security, safety, environmental management and regulatory requirements. This hands-on role plays a critical part in ensuring the airport meets the standards of agencies including CASA and the Cyber and Infrastructure Security Centre. This position is classified as a Safety Sensitive Aviation Activity (SSAA) and requires participation in an on-call roster and attendance at operational emergencies when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily terminal and airside operations.
  • Coordinate runway, taxiway and apron inspections, wildlife hazard management and airside driving compliance.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with aviation safety, security and environmental regulations.
  • Support emergency response activities in accordance with airport emergency and security plans.
  • Maintain operational manuals, procedures, reports and compliance records.
  • Coordinate security audits, contractor compliance and performance reporting.
  • Assist with the ongoing development of the airport's Safety Management System.
  • Build strong relationships with airlines, contractors, regulators and other stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and support to operational staff.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience in airport operations, compliance, aviation security or a similar regulated environment.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and operational risk management.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • The ability to lead teams and manage competing priorities in a dynamic operational environment.
  • A current NT Driver's Licence (or ability to obtain), and eligibility to obtain an ASIC and Airside Driving Authority.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of CASA and aviation security regulatory requirements.
  • Understanding of airport and airline operations.
  • Experience with audits, compliance reporting and security management systems.
