The Opportunity
As Forward Deployed Engineering Manager, you will build and lead a global team of engineers who embed directly with customers to design, integrate, validate and ship navigation solutions into complex defence and commercial platforms, reporting to the Chief Growth Officer.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and optimise the FDE charter, recruiting and developing engineers combining technical depth (INS, GNSS, sensor fusion, robotics) with customer-facing excellence
- Establish deployment playbooks for pre-sale technical qualification, integration sprints and acceptance testing
- Act as senior technical escalation point for the highest-stakes customer implementations
- Translate field-derived insight into structured product requirements, partnering with R&D
- Partner with regional commercial leadership on account strategy and pricing
Essential Requirements
- Degree in mechatronics, mechanical, electrical or aerospace engineering
- 8+ years across applications engineering, solutions engineering, presales or field engineering in navigation, robotics or autonomous systems
- Hands-on fluency with inertial navigation, GNSS/GNSS-denied operation and sensor fusion
- Experience leading and scaling distributed technical teams
- Willingness to travel globally (approximately 30-40%), including to austere test environments
