About the Role
Two part-time opportunities (0.6 FTE each) are available for Operations Controllers based in Perth, WA. At the heart of VARA's operations, you will manage flight schedules, minimise disruptions, and ensure a seamless experience for passengers and clients. Rotating shifts operate between 3:00AM–10:00PM (AM and PM shifts), with one rotation to 12:30PM.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactive Problem Solving: Continuously monitor all aspects of the operation, identify potential impacts, and take action to reduce disruptions
- Communication & Coordination: Serve as the primary contact for all operational situations, ensuring smooth handovers and keeping teams informed
- Disruption Management: Assess resources, implement disruption plans, and make real-time decisions to keep the network running
- Charter Coordination: Handle planning and execution of charter services, balancing client needs with operational efficiency
- Compliance & Documentation: Maintain compliance with regulatory, security, and crew requirements, and keep accurate documentation for emergency response
About You
- Strong understanding of cross-functional operations and crew management
- Ability to remain calm and decisive in a high-pressure environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexibility to work rotating AM and PM shifts
- Experience within an Operations Control Centre environment is desirable
