About the Role

We're currently seeking a motivated and safety-focused Air Gateway Assistant to join our Sydney Gateway Operations team. This role is ideal for someone with aviation ramp experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced airport environment and wants to build a long-term career with a global industry leader.

Reporting to the Gateway Supervisor, you will play a key role in supporting daily aircraft turnaround activities and ensuring the smooth movement of freight through our air network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Aircraft load planning and weight and balance calculations
  • Preparing manifests and flight documentation
  • Finalising load calculations and issuing loading instructions
  • Accepting shipments and resolving freight discrepancies
  • Coordinating aircraft loading and unloading activities
  • Liaising with operational teams regarding aircraft servicing requirements including catering and cleaning
  • Monitoring ULD movements between cargo terminals and aircraft
  • Ensuring compliance with aviation safety, security and operational procedures
  • Supporting additional operational and administrative tasks as required

Working Hours

This role operates on a rotating roster with varying shift start and finish times. Typical operating hours are 8:00am to 11:00pm, seven days per week. Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays and changing shifts is essential to support operational requirements.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous aircraft loading or unloading experience
  • Airside ramp operations experience
  • Strong understanding of airport operational procedures
  • Current unrestricted Australian driver's licence (manual licence required)
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good computer skills and attention to detail
  • A strong commitment to workplace safety

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be eligible to obtain and maintain an ASIC clearance
  • Pass a National Police Check
  • Pass a pre-employment medical assessment
  • Hold valid Australian or New Zealand working rights
