About the Role
We are looking for highly motivated Aircraft Engine Maintenance Technicians to support the most exciting engine platforms in the defence sector – the F/A-18 Super Hornet's F414 engine, the F135 engine that powers the F-35 Lightning II, and the M1 Abrams AGT1500 Tank engine.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing heavy engine maintenance activities including strip, detailed inspection, and assembly
- Ensuring all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with approved publications, technical data, and work instructions
- Maintaining documentation of work in progress
- Performing maintenance supervisory/inspection duties as specified by aviation regulators
- Continually looking for ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Taking all reasonable steps to ensure own safety and the safety of others
Essential Requirements
- Certificate III or IV mechanical trade qualification
- Demonstrable knowledge of strip, detailed inspection and assembly of the gas turbine engine
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience working within airworthiness rules and regulatory requirements
- Ability to maintain documentation of work in progress and composition of maintenance worksheets
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals to meet regulatory requirements
Due to the nature of the work and customer requirements, applicants may be required to hold Australian citizenship and meet ITAR/EAR compliance as part of employment eligibility. Successful applicants may be required to undergo a police check, obtain a Commonwealth defence security clearance, and participate in random drug and alcohol screening.
