About the Role
The Cargo Driver performs hands-on operational duties across freight handling activities, including operating vehicles and equipment to support aircraft servicing and cargo movement.
Service Delivery
Perform operational duties associated with freight and freighter aircraft handling
Operate equipment including forklifts, tow motors, vans, mobile steps, belts, and buses
Load, unload, and transport freight safely and efficiently
Conduct basic serviceability and maintenance checks on vehicles and equipment
Refuel vehicles and ensure operational readiness
Support AAF and PUD driving activities where applicable
Use communication and computer systems to support operations
Standards, Compliance and Safety
Operate all equipment in accordance with safety procedures and regulations
Conduct pre-operational checks and report defects
Follow all airside and landside safety requirements
Maintain compliance with company and regulatory standards
Skills and Experience
Experience in freight handling or similar operational environment (preferred)
Valid forklift licence (where required) A valid Australian Driver’s Licence
Ability to obtain and hold a valid Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
Ability to obtain and hold a valid Airside Driving Authority (ADA)
Fluent in English, excellent written and verbal communication skills
Competent in the operational requirements of Ground Handling (ideal)
Working understanding of the Aviation Industry
Excellent organisation and time management skills to ensure safe and compliant operations with schedule pressures
Strong ability to multi-task, prioritise and meet deadlines
