About the Role
The Cargo Co-Ordinator is responsible for overseeing freight operations within a designated work area, ensuring productivity, performance, and compliance standards are consistently achieved. The role provides leadership, supervision, and coordination of staff while driving operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
Service Delivery
- Supervise and coordinate a team of freight staff within a designated operational area
- Ensure productivity and performance criteria are achieved, including completion of regular performance assessments
- Provide leadership, training, and ongoing support to designated staff
- Organise and allocate work to meet operational requirements and deadlines
- Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Make recommendations to enhance productivity, efficiency, and service delivery
- Perform administrative and reporting duties, including use of communication and computer systems
- Participate in probationary employee assessment panels
Standards, Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and company procedures
- Promote a safety-first culture within the team
- Ensure all equipment and operational activities meet safety standards
- Report hazards, incidents, and operational risks in a timely manner
Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated leadership experience in freight or ground handling operations
- Valid Australian Driver's Licence
- Ability to obtain and hold a valid ASIC
- Ability to obtain and hold a valid Airside Driving Authority (ADA)
- Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Competent in the operational requirements of ground handling (ideal)
- Working understanding of the aviation industry
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Strong ability to multi-task, prioritise and meet deadlines
