Trades Assistant / Hangar Hand

About the Role

Skippers', Western Australia's truly regional airline is seeking a reliable, motivated and safety-conscious Trades Assistant / Hangar Hand to support our aviation maintenance team in a busy aircraft maintenance hangar.

The successful applicant will assist aircraft maintenance personnel with general workshop duties, hangar housekeeping, tooling and equipment organisation and other tasks to support the safe and efficient operation of the hangar.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist aircraft maintenance engineers and tradespeople with general maintenance support tasks as directed.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and organised aircraft hangar and workshop.
• Clean and maintain work areas, tools, equipment and ground support equipment.
• Assist with the movement and storage of tools, materials and equipment.
• Maintain inspection intervals on all Hangar based ground service equipment.
• Follow aviation safety procedures, workplace health and safety requirements and hangar protocols.
• Ensure foreign object debris (FOD) is identified and removed to help maintain a safe aircraft maintenance enviroment.
• Carry out general duties as required by the maintenance team.

About You

• Reliable, punctual and hardworking with a strong attention to detail.
• Safety-focused and committed to maintaining high standards of housekeeping.
• Able to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions.
• Physically capable of performing general manual handling duties.
• Willing to learn and develop skills within an aviation maintenance environment.
• Previous experience in aviation, mechanical workshops or trades assistance is desirable but not essential.
