Sharp Airlines is seeking casual Aircraft Ground Handlers at Launceston (LST) Airport, to support day to day operations.
Duties:
Provide friendly passenger check-in and customer service.
Accept and consign air freight.
Loading and unloading cargo in all weather conditions.
Managing loading of air freight in accordance with weight and balance and aircraft performance specifications.
Use of forklift and other loaders to load and unload palletised freight in aircraft.
Pallet makeup and assembly in accordance with client expectations and air freight safety policies.
Baggage reconciliation and tracking of air freight.
Other duties deemed reasonable in maintaining day to day operations of the airline.

Physically fit with the ability to lift up to 32kg.
Excellent presentation and a pleasant demeanor.
Excellent organisational and forward planning skills.

Provide excellent customer service.
Able to work and make decisions independently, and keep calm under pressure, to meet critical deadlines.

Requirements:
Current red ASIC card, or the ability to obtain one.
Current LF forklift high risk work license with a clear incident record.
Short listed candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test, prior to beginning employment.
Short listed candidates will also be required to conduct a pre-employment industrial hearing test (audiogram), prior to beginning employment.
Own reliable transport to get to and from work.
Desired:
Experience in the aviation industry.
Proven ability in operating forklifts in fast paced environments.
First aid accreditation.
Aeronautical radio operator’s license.
Two or more references.
