About the Team
The RFDS WA Aviation & Engineering team supports a growing and diverse fleet delivering lifesaving aeromedical and primary health services across one of the largest and most remote jurisdictions in the world.

Our current fleet includes 17 PC‑12 aircraft, 3 PC‑24 jets and 2 BK117‑C2 helicopters, with new PC‑12 Pro aircraft now entering service as part of our ongoing fleet expansion.

The Stores function is critical to flight safety and operational reliability, ensuring aircraft parts are available, traceable and fully compliant to support our engineering teams in keeping the fleet safe, reliable and mission ready.

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive Logistics Officer to support aviation maintenance operations. This role is key to ensuring aircraft parts are ordered, tracked and delivered efficiently while maintaining strong financial control, supplier performance and effective cross‑department collaboration.

About the Role 

  • Receive, inspect and process aircraft parts, verify certification (CASA Form 1, EASA, FAA), manage inventory accuracy including shelf‑life and quarantine items, and ensure compliance with CASA Part 145 requirements.

  • Pick, pack and dispatch aircraft components, coordinate freight shipments, and support maintenance and engineering teams with urgent Aircraft on Ground (AOG) requirements.

  • Track procurement expenditure against budgets, manage supplier and OEM relationships to achieve competitive pricing and turnaround times, administer warranty programs, and collaborate across procurement, finance, maintenance and operations to ensure efficient workflows.

About You

  • Experience in stores, inventory control or warehouse operations within an aviation, engineering or technical environment.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records, certification documentation and technical data.

  • Confident use of inventory management or ERP systems to manage stock levels, orders and associated technical information.

  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills, including experience with OEM and supplier programs, warranties and vendor agreements.

  • Experience with financial reconciliation (purchase orders, invoices and freight), with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced operational environment.

  • Forklift licence, Dangerous Goods certification or experience handling regulated materials is desirable.
