The Royal Flying Doctor Service South Australia & Northern Territory (RFDS SA/NT) is Australia's most reputable charity, providing 24-hour emergency, aeromedical, and primary healthcare services to those who live, work, and travel in rural and remote Australia. RFDS SA/NT operates 22 aircraft — 20 Pilatus PC-12 and 2 Pilatus PC-24 — across bases in Alice Springs, Adelaide, Darwin, and Port Augusta.
About the Role
RFDS SA/NT Line Pilots are at the forefront of aeromedical aviation, operating as an integral part of a multi-disciplined crew. Reporting to the Deputy Head of Flight Operations, you will complete flight operations for aeromedical evacuations, inter-hospital patient transfers, and healthcare personnel charter flights across the Northern Territory and South Australia — including emergency aeromedical services in the outback and routine patient transfers.
Essential Requirements
- CASA CPL(A)
- Current IPC with 3 renewals
- Minimum 2,000 total flight hours
- Minimum 1,500 hours in command
- 100 hours night flying experience
- Recent single pilot IFR (within 2 years)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Desirable
- Experience operating aircraft in remote areas
- PC-12 or PC-24 experience
- Knowledge of rural and remote Australia
- Experience and training in emergency retrieval practices
- Turbine engine aircraft experience
