About RFDS Queensland
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) delivers essential aeromedical, primary healthcare and 24/7 telehealth services across regional, rural and remote Queensland, operating a fleet of 25 aircraft including Beechcraft King Air B200s, B350CHWs and B360s.
The Opportunity
Based at the RFDS Rockhampton Base, you will support the Aeromedical team with emergency retrievals and interfacility transfers. This is a permanent, full-time role working 14 shifts per 28 days across a mix of day and night shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate RFDS aircraft safely and in accordance with company procedures and aviation regulations
- Prepare aircraft for flight, including refuelling and oxygen replenishment
- Support healthcare teams with patient and equipment transfers
- Assist with loading and unloading patients, stretchers and medical equipment
- Complete operational and regulatory documentation
Essential Requirements
- Current Instrument Rating – Multi Engine Aircraft with four or more renewals
- Current Australian ATPL/CPL and Class 1 Aviation Medical
- 4000 hours total flying time; 2500 hours PIC; 2000 hours PIC multi-engine; 200 hours PIC at night; 200 hours instrument time
- Turbine experience; recent single-pilot experience within the last 2–5 years highly desirable
- Australian citizenship, permanent residency or valid working rights
- Ability to obtain a Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
