The Role
Take the next step in your aviation leadership career as the Fixed Wing Head of Training and Checking with QGAir. In this pivotal role, you'll lead the Training & Checking function, ensuring the safe, efficient and effective delivery of QGAir's training program. You will uphold the highest standards of currency and proficiency, conduct training and support licence and rating issue or renewal in line with QGAir and CASA requirements.
Reporting to the Head of Flying Operations, you'll provide technical advice and drive continuous improvement of flight standards, operations and procedures. This is a full-time 3-year contract position located at Brisbane Airport.

Mandatory Requirements
- Current Australian Commercial Pilot's Licence (CPL)
- Flight Instructor Rating (FIR) – Multi Engine
- Multi-Engine Command Instrument Rating – 4 renewals
- Minimum 5,000 hours total time
- Minimum 4,000 hours Pilot in Command (PIC)
- Minimum 200 hours Night PIC
- Minimum 1,000 hours Multi-Engine PIC
- Minimum 1,000 hours Turbine PIC
- Recent Fixed Wing Single-Pilot experience (within 2 years)
- Hold or be eligible to hold an ASIC
- Current Class 1 Aviation Medical
- Current Australian Passport
Highly Desirable Requirements
- Current Australian Air Transport Pilot's Licence (ATPL)
- Flight Examiner Rating (FER)
- Minimum 500 hours fixed wing flight instructor / check and training
- B360 Type Rating
- C208 (or similar) experience
Special Conditions
- Pre-employment psychological assessment required
- Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing; participation in QGAir Drug and Alcohol Management Program required
- Successful candidate must secure and maintain formal CASA approval to hold the position of HOTAC for the organisation's AOC
- Touring duties at any base operated by the Aviation Capability Group required
- Must be available for rostered duty within one hour of notification
- Act as Alternate Head of Flying Operations (HOFO) during temporary absences
