About the Role
A 12-month fixed-term, full-time opportunity based at the Sydney Distribution Centre, Mascot, within Qantas Supply Chain Operations. The Senior Component Buyer ensures timely procurement and availability of aircraft components to support Qantas Engineering and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end purchasing activities with contracted and non-contracted suppliers
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure materials meet business and customer expectations
- Resolve supply and inventory issues and expedite critical orders
- Use data and insights to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Investigate quality and service issues and support supplier performance management
Essential Requirements
- Experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain operations
- Experience sourcing aircraft components or technical materials (desirable)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Excel and reporting capabilities
- Experience managing supplier relationships, contracts and performance
