Our engineering apprenticeship is a four-year program combining theory training with our RTO partners, in-house training courses, and practical on-the-job training, receiving hands-on training on Qantas Group aircraft.

Typical Trade Responsibilities
- Mechanical Apprentice — maintains, inspects and undertakes fault diagnosis of airframe, engine systems and mechanical components, including undercarriage, wheels and brakes, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, flight control systems and environmental control systems
- Avionics Apprentice — maintains, inspects and undertakes fault diagnosis of electrical, instrument and radio systems, including power generation and distribution, autopilot and integrated flight systems, radar and communication systems and in-flight entertainment
- Structures Apprentice — maintains, inspects and undertakes modification and repair to aircraft metallic and composite structures such as fibreglass, carbon fibre, Kevlar and bonded structures
You’ll Have
- A demonstrated mechanical aptitude with an eagerness to learn a hands-on trade
- Good manual dexterity with the ability to use a range of hand tools
- A proactive attitude toward learning and applying safe work practices
- A high level of drive and enthusiasm to build a career in aviation
- Exceptional teamwork and excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Australian Citizenship or Australian Permanent Residency status
- Ability to work all shift patterns
- Availability to start work from early 2027
