Hop Onboard as an Engineering Apprentice with Network Aviation

Begin an exciting career in aviation with our 2027 Qantas Group Engineering Apprenticeship Program. Learn from industry professionals at an airline renowned for its world-leading safety culture. Our engineering apprenticeship is a four-year program combining theory training with our RTO partners, in-house training courses, and practical on-the-job training on Qantas Group and customer aircraft. Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) apprenticeships are available in Mechanical and Avionics trades.

Typical Trade Responsibilities

  • Mechanical Apprentice — maintains, inspects and undertakes fault diagnosis of airframe, engine systems and mechanical components, including undercarriage, wheels and brakes, pressurisation, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, flight control systems and environmental control systems
  • Avionics Apprentice — maintains, inspects and undertakes fault diagnosis of electrical, instrument and radio systems, including power generation and distribution, autopilot and integrated flight systems, radar and communication systems and in-flight entertainment

You’ll Have

  • A demonstrated mechanical aptitude with an eagerness to learn a hands-on trade
  • A proactive attitude toward learning and applying safe work practices
  • A high level of motivation and passion for the aviation sector
  • Exceptional teamwork and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good hand skills with the ability to use a variety of tooling
  • A valid driver’s licence
  • Australian Citizenship or Australian Permanent Residency status
  • Ability to work all shift patterns and availability to start from early 2027
