About the Role

PHI Aviation is seeking a dedicated Helicopter AW189 Captain, Broome based, on a touring roster flying from any major capital in Australia, in a permanent full-time position. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft and ensuring flights are conducted in compliance with company policies and aviation regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of aircraft operations and all persons on board, maintaining final authority over the aircraft during command.
• Observe all regulatory and client rules and regulations, and the relevant RFM.
• Follow company directives and procedures during flight planning, pre-flight inspection, in-flight operations, and post-flight reporting.
• Complete flight planning and establish/maintain communications with the responsible authority.
• Complete flights as scheduled in a safe and timely manner, making decisions on cancellations, delays, or amendments and reporting to the Senior Base Pilot or Base & Contract Manager.
• Ensure all licenses, ratings, medical certificates, and proficiency requirements are current.
• Provide opportunities for Co-Pilots to increase their skill and knowledge in standard operating procedures.
• Undertake non-flying tasks such as paperwork, helicopter husbandry, and facility housekeeping as assigned.

Essential Requirements

• AW189 type rating (essential).
• ATPL(H).
• Command Instrument Rating.
• CASA Class 1 Medical Certificate.
• 500 hours offshore command.
• 4 years offshore experience, or two years offshore experience with one full year in Broome (all seasons).
• 1500 hrs rotary multi-engine multi-crew, or 1000 hrs rotary multi-engine multi-crew if 1000 hrs rotary offshore PIC.
• 1000 hrs rotary multi-engine Pilot-in-Command Under Supervision (PICUS), or 500 hrs rotary multi-engine PICUS if 1000 hrs rotary offshore PIC.
• 100 hrs of rotary night flight as pilot-in-command or co-pilot, with a minimum of 25 hours rotary night offshore time.
• Sound judgement, initiative and excellent communication and relationship management skills.
