We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join Perth Airport and lead the successful delivery of complex infrastructure and capital works projects. Working within our Projects Delivery team, you will take ownership of major projects from planning through to completion, ensuring outcomes are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and aligned with business objectives. This role provides the opportunity to lead multidisciplinary project teams, influence key stakeholders and contribute to the delivery of projects that support the future growth and development of Perth Airport.
About the role
- Lead the planning and delivery of capital works projects, ensuring outcomes are achieved in line with agreed scope, budget, schedule, quality, safety and environmental requirements.
- Define project objectives, requirements and deliverables through stakeholder consultation, analysis and governance processes.
- Manage project risks, issues and dependencies, implementing mitigation strategies and escalating matters where required.
- Develop and oversee project schedules, resource plans and delivery programs to ensure milestones and commitments are achieved.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with project sponsors, contractors, consultants, regulators and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor project performance, budgets and resource utilisation, providing accurate reporting, forecasting and recommendations to support decision making.
- Lead project meetings, governance reviews and stakeholder engagements, ensuring effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate and support project teams, providing leadership, mentoring and guidance to strengthen capability and drive successful delivery outcomes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance project governance, delivery practices and organisational performance.
- Manage project closeout and handover activities, ensuring documentation, lessons learned and operational transition requirements are completed.
About you
- Master's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, Building Design or a related discipline, supported by extensive project delivery experience.
- Demonstrated experience taking full accountability for the delivery of complex capital projects, typically ranging from $5M to $100M in value.
- Strong background delivering major infrastructure, aviation, health, defence, manufacturing or other complex facilities projects.
- Proven capability across project controls, including planning, scheduling, cost management, forecasting and risk management.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of contracts, procurement processes and project governance requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and build trusted relationships across diverse groups.
- Experience leading, mentoring and developing project teams while fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Well-developed problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage complexity and competing priorities.
- Proficiency in project management systems and Microsoft applications, including Aconex, SharePoint, MS Project, Outlook, Teams, Excel and Word.
- A proactive and results-focused approach, with a commitment to accountability, continuous improvement, innovation and the successful delivery of project outcomes.
