Trainee Procurement/Logistics Officer

About the Role

Nautilus Aviation is seeking a motivated and hands-on Junior Store Person/Procurement Officer to join its dynamic Cairns-based team. This position supports day-to-day stores and procurement operations, working closely with internal teams, suppliers and freight partners to ensure smooth and compliant logistics that keep aviation operations moving safely and efficiently. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with warehouse or procurement experience looking to grow their career in the aviation industry.

Nautilus Aviation provides training support, including enrolment in a Certificate IV or Diploma in Logistics, completed over an 18–24 month period as part of a professional development pathway within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Receiving, inspecting and storing goods
• Picking, packing and dispatching customer orders
• Assisting in purchasing, raising POs, processing invoices and budget tracking
• Maintaining accurate stock control and inventory records
• Operating forklifts (if licensed) for movement and storage of goods
• Supporting engineering with parts and materials
• Handling local and international freight bookings and deliveries
• Performing stock takes and general housekeeping
• Ensuring safety, compliance and secure stores operations

Essential Requirements

• Driver's licence (essential); forklift licence preferred but not essential
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Physical fitness for manual handling tasks
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
• Positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn; ability to work autonomously
