About the role
National Jet Express (NJE) is seeking Catering Officers to join our ground operations team on a part-time basis. This is a hands-on role responsible for preparing, loading, and delivering catering carts to aircraft, operating catering trucks, and maintaining catering equipment to a high standard — all while meeting the safety and security expectations of a regulated aviation environment. You'll work under the direction of the Catering Coordinator as part of a small, close-knit team.
Key responsibilities
- Receive and process incoming catering stock deliveries
- Prepare and load catering carts for scheduled flights
- Operate catering trucks to deliver carts to, and collect carts from, aircraft
- Carry out catering and de-catering of aircraft in line with company procedures
- Maintain on-time performance by completing catering tasks within scheduled turnaround windows
- Clean and maintain catering equipment and vehicles to required standards
- Follow all aviation safety and security procedures at all times
About you
- Previous experience in catering, hospitality, warehousing, or ground handling well regarded but not essential
- Current MR licence or greater, or ability to obtain one, required
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling in a fast-paced, time-critical environment
- Available to work a rotating roster including early morning, afternoon and night shifts, plus public holidays, with weekend work required on an ad-hoc basis
- Valid ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card), or ability to obtain one
