Permanent Full-Time Position

Rotational shift roster 7 days a week, across a 24-hour period operation is a critical requirement.

Overview

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Cargo Lead Agent – Exports who can provide strong leadership, operational support and a high level of customer service to our airline customers, freight forwarders and customs agents, while maintaining Menzies Aviation and customer policies, standards and safety requirements.

The successful applicant will assist with the day-to-day coordination of the Export Warehouse, supporting Duty Managers and leading the team to ensure cargo operations are completed safely, efficiently and in line with operational and customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Have previous experience in a cargo, freight forwarding, warehouse or logistics environment, preferably within aviation.
  • Have previous experience leading or supervising a team.
  • Have strong knowledge of export cargo handling and warehouse processes.
  • Have experience handling airline carriers within the MACH system and knowledge of airline-specific systems.
  • Hold a current Dangerous Goods (DG) certification.
  • Have strong computer skills and the ability to work with relevant operational systems.
  • Be able to prioritise and plan work effectively while maintaining on-time performance.
  • Be able to manage multiple tasks and meet set timeframes in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Have excellent customer service and communication skills, both face-to-face and by telephone.
  • Have strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Be confident making decisions and resolving operational issues when required.
  • Be able to build and maintain positive working relationships with airline representatives, freight forwarders and customs agents.
  • Have a strong focus on safety, compliance and operational standards.
  • Have excellent attendance, reliability and time-management skills.
  • Be a team player with a positive and professional approach.
  • Hold a full New Zealand driver’s license.
  • Have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
  • Be flexible to work a 24/7 rotating shift pattern, including weekends and public holidays.

If successful, you will be required to undergo an Airport Security check which must return a clean criminal history and a pre-employment medical assessment which includes a drug and alcohol test.
