About the Role

We are seeking a Helicopter Refueller / Truck Driver to support our Night Vision Imaging System (NVIS) operations based at Essendon Airport throughout the upcoming fire season, commencing November 2026. This position plays an important role in supporting aircraft operations, ensuring aircraft, fuel and equipment are prepared and available for operational requirements. As NVIS operations are conducted outside daylight hours, this role will involve regular night work, with flexibility required to support operational requirements including weekends and public holidays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Refuel helicopters and support aircraft ground operations
  • Operate fuel trucks in accordance with Dangerous Goods requirements and company procedures
  • Assist with loading, handling and transporting operational equipment and supplies
  • Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance of refuelling equipment
  • Provide ground support to aircraft, vehicles and operational equipment
  • Maintain fuel storage facilities, yards and operational areas
  • Complete operational documentation, inspections and fuel records
  • Follow company safety procedures, aviation standards and WHS requirements at all times
  • Travel to support aviation operations when required
  • Support operational readiness activities to ensure aircraft and equipment remain mission-ready

Essential Requirements

  • Unrestricted HR (Heavy Rigid) Driver Licence
  • Current Dangerous Goods (DG) Licence
  • Current Australian Driver Licence
  • Full Australian working rights
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening

This is a casual seasonal position commencing in November 2026. Hours of work will vary based on operational demands and may include night shifts, weekends, public holidays and periods of increased operational activity. Employment beyond the season is not guaranteed.
