Executive, Flight Data Analysis Management

About the Role

Malaysia Aviation Group (MAB – Flight Data Analysis, MAB Corporate Safety Oversight) is hiring an Executive, Flight Data Analysis Management, accountable for the day-to-day running of the Flight Data Analysis (FDA) system (technical support), producing reports and analyses (management and administrative support), and ensuring the smooth running of the FDA programme as part of accident prevention and flight safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure aircraft flight data for all MAB aircraft are downloaded periodically and systematically
• Cross-reference and present information/data in a credible, integrated context
• Verify data integrity prior to use for any analysis, monitoring and reporting under the FDA programme
• Establish and maintain the FDA event/statistical database
• Prepare monthly and quarterly trend analysis for internal and external entities: Safety Review Board (SRB), Corporate Safety Oversight (CSO), Flight Operations, Engineering, Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) and OEMs (Airbus & Boeing)
• Attend FDA-related meetings/user conferences as necessary and ensure follow-up on actions arising
• Liaise with the Engineering & Maintenance Department for troubleshooting and corrective action on flight data transmission rate and/or flight data recorder failure
• Support the FDA vendor on software & hardware (ground-based flight data recording, analysis equipment, flight data recorder, etc.) troubleshooting
• Assist and support Group IT on the AirFASE system and related network/server/IT issues pertaining to FDA
• Ensure the Flight Identification process is actioned accordingly and update the Flight Identification database (CSIS)
• Assist in preparing specific flight data requests by relevant business units and external parties
• Assist in creating and developing customised events for fleet safety trend enhancement
• Assist in producing the FDA Business Plan and in preparing and managing the FDA yearly/monthly budget and expenses
• Assist in providing updates for the CSMM/CDM manual

Essential Requirements

• Degree in IT/Mathematics/Science/Engineering or Business-related discipline with 2 years of working experience, or Diploma with 3 years of working experience
• Degree/diploma in Business Management, Business Administration, Economics, Law or an equivalent field is advantageous
• Knowledge in IT strategic planning and application development
• Strong interpersonal, communications, presentation and writing skills
• Analytical frame of mind; meticulous, disciplined and firm
• Team leader and role model
