Helicopter activities include helicopter gearbox overhauls in our state-of-the-art MRO facility, as well as scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, aircraft modifications and deployed support to customer maintenance activities. About the Role

Leonardo Australia is seeking a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) B1.3 / B2 to join our team at our Essendon Fields site. The LAME is required to conduct maintenance on aircraft, aircraft components and/or general support equipment as directed by the Senior Base Engineer, ensuring good housekeeping practices and that all work is conducted in line with the company's CAR30 Procedures Manual and/or Part 145 MOE. LAMEs, while working under Leonardo Australia's Certificate of Approval, will report to the Senior Base Engineer via the Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Exercise abilities and licence coverage as directed by the Engineering Manager in accordance with the CAR30 Procedures Manual and/or Part 145 MOE
• Act as Job Coordinator during maintenance activities to meet CAR30 and/or Part 145 MOE requirements and the issue of Maintenance Releases
• Be fully conversant with airworthiness requirements pertaining to maintenance of aircraft, particularly CAR Schedule 6
• Practice individual quality control at all times
• Bring anomalies in maintenance schedules, defects or maintenance procedures to the attention of the Engineering Manager
• Assist in the upkeep of the hangar and keep Ground Support Equipment clean, functional and calibrated
• Impart on-the-job training to AMEs & Apprentices
• Travel domestically and internationally, upon request, to support the Leonardo Helicopters product line and for OEM training

Essential Requirements

• Valid CASA Part 66 licence (AW109, AW139 & AW169 desirable)
• Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical) and/or (Avionics) or higher
• Ability to hold a valid ASIC card
• Current Human Factors training
• Current Police Background Check, or ability to attain
• Sound engineering background with proven ability to conduct scheduled maintenance efficiently
• Detailed knowledge of CASA regulations as applicable to aircraft maintenance
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and organise others
