About the Role

This is a hands-on role that helps keep the Australian aviation industry moving. As a member of the airside team, you are the face of dnata catering & retail out on the tarmac and are responsible for correctly loading catering onto the aircraft. This involves loading fully stocked aircraft trolleys onto hi-lift trucks and driving a short distance to the aircraft, guiding the vehicle for safe approach, loading the carts onto the aircraft, and working with the airline cabin crew to make sure everything is correct, before removing any empty carts and heading back to the catering facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Short distance driving and basic vehicle checks, including re-fuelling
  • Load and unload trucks and aircraft with catering, carts, and ovens, ensuring any discrepancies are followed up on
  • Guide and position the trucks in line with company, airport, and airline policies
  • Communicate and coordinate with airline cabin crew for aircraft servicing and delivery hand over
  • Administrative documentation, reporting, and general cleaning duties as required

Essential Requirements

  • Clear National Police Check
  • MR or HR driver's licence preferred (candidates without these qualifications can start as a Marshaller)
  • Ability to perform frequent manual handling tasks
  • Flexibility to work across a 7-day rotating roster around flight schedules is essential
  • Availability to work 38 hours/week, as this role is a full-time permanent position
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound numeracy skills for accurate documentation and reporting
  • Neat and tidy presentation with a strong focus on hygiene
