Senior Aeronautical Engineer

About the Role

Boeing is looking for a F/A-18 Senior Aeronautical Engineer or Senior Technical Officer (Structures) to join the F/A-18F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler team. We are seeking an experienced senior engineer/senior technical officer to support the sustainment of aircraft structures. This role is pivotal in ensuring the structural integrity, safety, and performance of current and future platforms across their entire lifecycle, based at RAAF Base Amberley, QLD.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct engineering activities related to the support of the F/A-18F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler aircraft maintenance program
• Undertake the development, validation, and review of structural designs, load assessments, and repair solutions in accordance with the approved Engineering Management System
• Perform structural study (static strength, durability/fatigue) to determine structural integrity, using classical techniques and Boeing tools
• Work towards gaining Engineering Authority and Delegations
• Embrace Boeing values and behaviours and be an exemplar of the BDA safety culture

Essential Requirements

• Tertiary qualifications or MAML in Mechanical, Structural or Aerospace Engineering
• Extensive experience in aircraft structural engineering, with proven expertise in both modification and sustainment, or considerable experience in technical aircraft maintenance (preferably on F/A-18)
• Knowledge of structural analysis techniques, repair development, and certification processes within the Defence Aviation Safety Regulations (DASR) environment or equivalent CASA, EASA or EMAR systems
• Experience achieving results within a multidisciplinary engineering team
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively to a high standard within a multi-discipline team
• Australian Citizen to meet Defence security requirements
