About the Roles

Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is seeking two experienced Project Management Leaders to join the Super Hornet and Growler Sustainment Program:

  • Sustainment Projects Manager
  • Change Shared Services Manager

These leadership roles sit within both the Change Team and the Program Extended Leadership Team, delivering outcomes that support operational capability, continuous improvement, and program success. The Super Hornet and Growler Sustainment Program delivers in-service support and upgrade services for the Royal Australian Air Force's Super Hornet and Growler fleet.

Sustainment Projects Manager

  • Accountable for all sustainment system and technical change projects supporting the program.
  • Lead and supervise a team of project management professionals.
  • Engage with stakeholders across the Australian Defence Organisation, United States Government agencies, and Defence Industry.
  • Deliver projects to agreed cost, quality, and schedule requirements.

Change Shared Services Manager

  • Accountable for all Program-level PMO functions, including Change Boards, staff training and development, project scheduling and logistics support.
  • Deliver high-quality shared project management services, including scheduling and project logistics.
  • Oversee professionalisation, training, and development of project management staff across the Program.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects to successful and timely completion.
  • Proven leadership capability, including customer liaison and stakeholder engagement.
  • Tertiary qualification in a business-related field (e.g. Project Management, Logistics, Finance, Engineering) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a leadership role within a complex program.
  • Understanding of matrix-based organisations, with the ability to work effectively within them.

Eligibility

Applicants must be Australian citizens to meet Defence security requirements and must be willing to undergo the standard government vetting process, including a full life background check. BDA will sponsor and support the required clearance process.
