MQ-28 Operator Instructor

About the Role

Boeing Defence Australia is delivering critical defence capability across Australia and New Zealand through innovative engineering and trusted technical support. Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is seeking an Operator Instructor to join the MQ-28 Ghost Bat team. In this highly specialised role, you will do more than deliver training — you will help shape the training ecosystem for one of the world's most advanced autonomous aircraft.

You will bridge flight operations and digital learning, developing and delivering training across simulated, virtual, and live flight environments. This role is based at Amberley, with travel required between other sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & develop: create world-class operator courseware, including digital computer-aided learning and advanced simulation training packages
• Execute training: prepare, conduct, and debrief virtual and live flight sorties to ensure mission readiness
• Assess competency: lead rigorous assessments to maintain high qualification standards across the capability
• Support innovation: provide critical SME input during test, development, and Introduction Into Service (IIS) activities

Essential Requirements

• Minimum of 1500 hours PIC
• B CAT Military experience or Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) equivalent in an advanced contemporary aircraft
• Command Instrument Rating or IREX; B CAT QFI Military or Grade 1 Instructor rating
• Ability to gain and maintain a minimum CASA Class 2 medical
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE)
• Australian citizenship, with willingness to undergo the standard government vetting process including a full life background check (BDA will sponsor and support the clearance process)

Desirable

• Remote Pilot Licence (RePL)
• Experience with instructional authoring tools such as Articulate, or a strong interest in digital learning design
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
