The Opportunity
Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is seeking Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (Avionics) to join the AH-64 Apache sustainment and support team, based in Townsville, QLD.
Program Overview
The AH-64E Apache program provides advanced attack helicopter capability to the Australian Defence Force, enabling precision strike, armed reconnaissance and close air support. This program sustains a critical combat capability, supports interoperability with coalition partners, and underpins Australia’s land and joint operations.
What You’ll Get to Do
- Conduct aircraft and component maintenance within scope of authorisations
- Ensure work does not proceed past inspection check points until inspected by a supervisor
- Ensure all activities, including ancillary tasks, are completed for assigned tasks as required
- Accurately complete technical documentation and reports
- Prioritise personal and subordinate work tasks and goals
- Certify that work is completed to the specified requirements by stamping the appropriate documentation as authorised
- Assist the Team Leader in carrying out workplace assessments
- Contribute to improvements in the performance of the team by proposing solutions and more effective methods of work
Who We’re Looking For
- Minimum Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics) or equivalent trade qualification
- Apache familiarisation course (CoA provided)
- Demonstrated ability to use initiative, prioritise and work to tight timeframes with limited supervision
- Demonstrated success developing effective working relationships within a complex organisational structure
- Sound knowledge of aviation Quality Assurance (QA) procedures, aircraft maintenance/modification operating procedures and documentation
- Sound knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety procedures
- Demonstrated experience using technical manuals/publications in the repair of aeronautical product and systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and technical directives
- Working at Heights qualification
