Boeing Defence Australia is seeking a qualified Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) - Structures to join our Deep Maintenance Team supporting the Australian Defence Force's fleet of F/A-18F Super Hornet aircraft at RAAF Base Amberley.

This is an opportunity to work within a highly skilled team performing complex structural maintenance, repairs and modifications on one of the world's most advanced combat aircraft, with significant exposure to advanced composite repair techniques, structural restoration activities and depot-level maintenance operations.

About the Role

As an AME Structures Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out structural maintenance activities in support of scheduled deep maintenance programs and aircraft recovery tasks. Working within a safety-critical aviation environment, your responsibilities will include:

  • Aircraft structural inspections and repairs
  • Composite structure assessment and repair
  • Metallic structure repair and restoration
  • Removal and replacement of aircraft structural components
  • Fabrication and installation of repair schemes
  • Corrosion assessment and rectification
  • Aircraft modification activities
  • Interpretation of engineering drawings and technical publications
  • Completion of maintenance documentation and certification activities
  • Compliance with safety, quality and airworthiness requirements

A significant portion of this role involves advanced composite repair work, making it ideal for technicians looking to further develop specialist structural and composite repair expertise.

Essential Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Structures)
  • Demonstrated experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Structures
  • Experience performing aircraft structural repairs in a regulated aviation environment
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, repair instructions and technical manuals
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality and compliance
  • High attention to detail and workmanship standards
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

Desirable

  • Composite repair experience
  • Military aviation experience
  • Experience in deep maintenance, heavy maintenance or depot-level maintenance environments
  • Experience working under DASR, CASA or equivalent aviation regulatory frameworks
  • Experience with aircraft corrosion prevention and rectification programs

Security Requirements

  • Be Australian Citizens
  • Be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance
  • Successfully complete applicable pre-employment screening requirements
